Business Needs<\/h3>

NG Bailey were investing considerable time and effort into monitoring and managing a complex, multi-vendor ICT infrastructure. A large amount of time was spent dealing with an increasing number of incidents and a modern virtual environment with a simpler, highly available architecture was needed to help the business grow. They also needed faster, more cost-effective backups capable of cloud-based disaster recovery and to address their spiraling file data management costs<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Solution<\/h3>

To boost productivity, NG Bailey transformed their IT with a broad and integrated solution from Dell Technologies: Dell EMC DP series appliances, VxRail hyperconverged systems, and PowerScale unstructured data storage.<\/p>

With a cloud strategy centered on Microsoft Azure, they chose Dell EMC VxRail with Dell EMC DP series appliances and Cloud Disaster Recovery (Cloud DR) to keep their data safe. The DP series\u2019 simple interface and tight integration with VMware frees up their IT staff to focus on new ways to innovate and improve collaboration.<\/p>

NG Bailey have structured data that is held within their SaaS and on-premises applications as well as a number of bespoke SQL databases. They currently have 495 virtual machines across two data centers with a projected growth of about 10% per year. They\u2019re managing their virtual environment through VMware vCenter. Their unstructured data is managed and archived with Dell EMC PowerScale. The PowerScale OneFS operating system gives them the scalability, simplicity and storage management features they required to save over \u00a3400,000 per year when compared to their previous file storage environment.<\/p>

    \n\t\t\t\t\u201cIn terms of the technologies, PowerScale, VxRail and Dell EMC data protection work together. One of the main selling points for us was ultimately how integrated the products were. VxRail was key to achieving integrated disaster recovery and backup for our virtual environment. With the previous setup we had no full disaster recovery, to do a complete failover from one data center to another would have taken days, if not possibly weeks. We can now complete this process within a few hours using Dell EMC RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines. One of our organisational goals is to ensure that we\u2019ve got disaster recovery for our backups. Dell EMC Cloud DR in Azure has allowed us to meet that goal. It\u2019s allowed us to have offsite functionality at a reduced cost. And it\u2019s also allowed us to be selective on which systems we choose to implement this function with, which means we can also make sure our costs are kept low when it comes to the cloud. The tight integration between the DP4400 and the VxRail platform, the speed of the backups, it just makes it a better fit and the right solution for NG Bailey.\u201d\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
